Part of Toronto’s (and Canada’s) queer history, George Hislop was an iconic figure in the Toronto’s gay scene. He was the first openly gay person to run for city council as well as the mayorship, and there is a park in downtown Toronto named after him. Photo taken by Matti Charlton.
